About us

Te Hiku Pae Tawhiti is a Hauora Māori-led work readiness programme designed to help whānau in the Far North overcome barriers to employment and education.

What to Expect

Participants who enter employment or study within eight weeks of completion will receive an additional 182 days of pastoral care and support.

This programme is designed to create real, lasting opportunities for whānau.

Career guidance and micro-credentialing

Connections to employment and education pathways

Goal Setting & Opportunities

Digital literacy and life skills training

Wellbeing support including mental health and resilience training

Who Can Join?

Te Hiku Pae Tawhiti welcomes WINZ-registered clients from Kaitaia Service Centre.

Our focus is on supporting job seekers and individuals with health conditions or disabilities re-entering the workforce. Referrals are accepted from Work and Income, community organisations, agencies, or self-referral.

Criteria to Enrol

Applicants will be expected to attend a MSD Seminar as part of the entry criteria process.

1 How do I sign up?

If you are a WINZ-registered client in Kaitaia, you can be referred through Work and Income, a community organisation, self-refer or click here for the application.

2 What support is available?

Participants receive career guidance, wellbeing support, digital literacy training, and ongoing pastoral care for up to six months after completing the programme.
