Te Ara Poutama - Living Well with Heart Disease

Te Ara Poutama - Living Well with Heart Disease is very pleased to announce our Kura Raumati Internship programme for 2023/24.

Te Ara Poutama is a kaupapa Māori integrated research module co-funded by Pūtahi Manawa - Healthy Hearts for Aotearoa New Zealand Centre for Research Excellence and the National Heart Foundation of New Zealand.

Internships of $9,000 are available for Māori Tertiary students studying in a health-related field to participate in a Kaupapa Māori designed and led heart health internship over 2023/24 summer.

The internship kicks off with a week-long wānanga where tauira will be immersed in learning about mātauranga Māori approaches to heart health as well as connecting and building relationships with other Māori tauira, heart health researchers, and clinicians.

This will be followed by working on a 7-week heart health project supervised by heart health researchers and clinicians.

Applications are open and close at 5 pm on 22 September 2023.
