Dr Claudia Gomez Fernandez completed her medical studies in the Dominican Republic and did her Family Medicine training in Barcelona, Spain. She then worked in Spain as a Family Doctor with Emergency Room experience for 4 years prior to coming to Te Hiku Hauora as a locum based at Mamaru Clinic 2014 to September 2015.
Dr Gomez specializes in Family Practice and has a Masters in Palliative Care. She has lived and worked in different parts of the world.
Dr Gomez has a kind, friendly nature and we were fortunate to contract her to stay on and work at our Kaitaia Health Centre.
She has a keen interest in experiencing new countries and cultures and has enjoyed immersing herself in rural New Zealand and the Far North.
Dr Gomez enjoys travelling around New Zealand and enjoys many of the outdoor activities including her most recent passion paddle boarding.
