‘Oranga Hou – To be Innovative’ is one of Te Hiku Hauora organisational goals and their latest community exercise is no exception.
A first in the country, Te Hiku Hauora’s Mobile Nursing team have been trained to register patients in their own homes on to the Manage My Health system.
“This is a natural fit for the team,” says Mobile Nursing manager Angela Keung Hobson.
“Our team provide many different services to our clients and this is just another we are able to offer.”
“We see this service as empowering patients to take even greater control of their own care, enabling patients to contact their nurse via email in a secure environment.”
The Manage My Health patient portal system, which has recently been introduced at Te Hiku Hauora’s three GP Clinics in Kaitaia and Coopers Beach, gives patients the ability to look up their records, book appointments, renew scripts, check lab results and securely message their health team.
Patient portals are like online banking for health and are also available as an app on your mobile phone.
