Melanie draws upon years of senior management roles across Government and Non-Government Organisations, in sectors of health, social & justice. Hauora Māori and Iwi. Melanie was instrumental in the establishment and development of primary care services, to remote geographical, rural areas. The procurement and commissioning of government contracts, with the expertise of continuous quality improvement.
Melanie also has experience in the development of public policy development, health and safety knowledge and expertise. Melanie has over a decade of governance experience, holding various positions of Chairperson to Deputy Chairperson. Through her active participation, and strategic contributions to local, regional & national boards in the discipline of health, education and social enterprises.
Melanie has actively served her community in various roles therefore enabling her passion of addressing inequalities through strong robust advocacy, promoting community development and resilience. Melanie is a strong promoter for fairness, injustice and enabling whānau to have a voice and to be heard. Melanie likes to hold and maintain credibility and mana at local, regional and national levels of “getting the job done”.
